Queen + PR article in Rolling Stone

Queen Reign Supreme Once Again
Thirteen years after their last album, and 17 years after the death of incomparable frontman Freddie Mercury, Queen are looking, once again, like champions of the world. With a new singer — Paul Rodgers, formerly of Bad Company and Free — a new album and a monumental tour covering 20 countries in 11 weeks, the band with the bestselling album in the history of the U.K. is making a dramatic return to the spotlight...

This might be the first sign of the apocalypse. Rolling Stone magazine
had something positive to say about Queen.

SUNDAY 9 NOVEMBER 2008, 8:47AM

Queen Live in Puebla, Mexico 10.17.1981

This show has been posted in the Share the Music section. A great show from their Gluttons for Punishment tour. Freddie ends the show by saying..

Queen Album News

From queenonline.com

Classic Rock Interview / Exclusive 'Cover' NewsThis month’s Classic Rock (June 2008, Issue 119, Velvet Revolver Cover) runs with a 3 page piece that includes an interview with Roger, Brian and Paul Rodgers.

Starting on Page 50 the guys openly discuss new tracks including ‘C-lebrity’, ‘Say It’s Not True’, ‘Call Me’, ‘We Believe’, ‘Whole House Rocking’ and the inclusion   of a cover version on the new album.

QOL can now EXCLUSIVELY reveal that the cover is in fact ‘Runaway’, originally a hit for Del Shannon and that it WILL NOT now feature on the album, but will be used at some point as part of the new album promotion.

Other points covered included where the album was recorded, using the Queen name, John Deacon’s involvement, the loss of Freddie, the new tour and that ‘this is probably the most rocking album Queen has made so far…there are also some beautiful, laid back moments.’

I really want to know who is in charge of designing Queen's album covers and promo items. I know one thing...I can do a hell of a lot better. Its a real shame...lets hope the new album kicks ass.

Stupid Online Polls

Day after day I see posts on various Queen message boards from people begging others to vote for Queen, Freddie, Brian, and Roger on these ridiculous online "Number 1" polls. Come on people, does it really matter if Queen or a Queen member comes in first in any of these made up polls? Some idiot created these sites, loaded them with ad banners and is spreading the word to fans of these artists to vote. Please don't waste your time...in the end we all know the results don't matter one bit.

eBay: Queen Innuendo Lithograph signed by all 4 members

I have a great item up for auction on eBay. Its a 8x11 Innuendo litho that is signed by all 4 members of Queen. This is 100% genuine. Why am I selling? Well, I decided that I should focus on just a few types of Queen memorabilia, like LPs, singles, and tour items. Trying to collect everything under the sun is going to kill me :) Good Luck!

RIP Luciano Pavarotti

Luciano Pavarotti, an opera super star died Thursday at his home in Italy. He was 71.

Pavarotti, a native of Modena, Italy where my family is from, visited my home town of Highwood, IL in October of 1979. There he sang a duet with the mother of a friend of mine that I went to grade school with. To celebrate his visit, Pavarotti was made an honorary member of the
Modenese Society.

He also sang at Holy Name Cathedral for Pope John Paul II who was visiting Chicago for the first time.

Queenzone boards

I just wanted to state that 70% of the message board members on queenzone really, really suck. Its amazing how no one can express an opinion on a discussion without someone ripping in to them and calling one another childish names. You know who you are. Grow up.

And then, when there is a good discussion going, some one will post something stupid out of no where like "Freddie is gay". WTF?

Queen Rock Montreal- CD/DVD/3LP

OK, time to vent a little. I cannot believe that Queen Productions is releasing this concert. Don't get me wrong...its a pretty good show....but it's been released 4 times already!!! And to top it off, look at the packaging of this release! It looks like a 9 year old created it with MS Paint! Shame on Brian and Roger for showing ZERO creativity here.

More Changes

Yup, I've made more changes to my site. I just cant seem to find a form that I like. We'll see how this works out. I'll be posting audio/video clips once in awhile as well as posting live shows. I'll be posting updates to the site on the right side, towards the bottom. I'll use this "Update" section of the left to post news, my opinions on anything Queen. And maybe I'll write a review or two.
